Our outing on Monday to Hubbard Park was all about giving back, showing we care, and giving thanks. On Friday, students learned more about community service through a lesson and discussion to help them prepare for service work on the park this Monday. Your children participated in a variety of helpful tasks for an hour in the park, including eliminating invasive plant species, draining ditches, spreading mulch on park trails, picking up trash (we gladly learned our park is very clean) and planting fruit trees. Everyone pitched in - thank you so much parent volunteers - and had a wet/wonderful day together. Thanksgiving circle comments varied from "being with my best friends" to "digging up hurtful plants." Enjoy a few photos from the day...
Thank you from all grade one classes to Mr. Jeff Byers, Hubbard Park Caretaker!
